The Face of a Queen

DSC_4788 This sculpture is made from yellow Jasper, some time during the 18th dynasty (Egypt), during the reign of Akhenaten (1353 to 1336 B.C.). It’s on display at the Met in New York, part of a very nice Egyptian collection. Worth the trip.

Comment Policy: Unless you’ve received special dispensation (you know who you are), you must use your real name. We’re all friends here, so if you want to be “Ron the plumber,” that’s cool, but you can’t be “Best Plumber.” See the comment policy for more.
