Hmmm… reminds me of one set of these same kind 12 years ago. ?

The way the rings are placed off-center is artistically cool. And the rough texture of the cloth contrasts with the smooth metallic finish of the rings. Also noticeable is the diagonal area of focus. Makes me want to print this out and write something on the ‘blank’ portion – “Happy Anniversary!”. Me and my wife’s anniversary btw was last Jan. 8. ?

    • Cool – happy anniversary!

I rotated the image about 20 degrees in post-processing to get that diagonal focus, I thought that it contrasted nicely with the weave in the fabric.

  2. That ring was a birthday present, silly!

  3. This is a really nice shot, a really great composition. You’ve kept it sharp even with the relatively slow shutter speed, too – great job!

  4. I love ring pictures! I would like to do something like this when I get married. What kind of material are those bands made out of?

  5. I like how you’ve gone for different material for each, most people go for mtaching rings – I always applaud the out of the ordinary as far as weddings are concerned. You wouldn’t believe the number of people who pick identical wedding music – night after night after night ?

  6. I love skinny stcaekd rings. I actually stack my wedding ring, engagement ring, and a ring that I got for college graduation, and they look really good together even though they are different colors of gold because they are each skinny and the same width. I definitely prefer this look to the chunky ring look, myself.

[…] The only ring I will wear was a birthday present from Claire, and it’s a simple, plain, titanium band. For some reason, in all my chosen lack of ornamentation, I like cuff links. Aperture: f/5.6Camera: […]
