Pancakes
Who wants a pancake,
Sweet and piping hot?
Good little Grace looks up and says,
“I’ll take the one on top.”
Who else wants a pancake,
Fresh off the griddle?
Terrible Teresa smiles and says,
“I’ll take the one in the middle.”
How many can you eat?
This looks yummy! The most delicious photo
Thanks, David!
WOW! This makes me so hungry!!! Were these homemade?????
Jake – yes, they were. I was trying a new recipe.
Oh my goodness, I count 24… Am I right? Mine would probably topple over after half of that! Great shot, but I’ll bet it tastes even better than it looks!!
Sara, there are actually 25 pancakes… and I confess, a little engineering took place to keep them upright for the photo.
Almost looks like a game of Jenga made out of pancakes. Either way I’m hungry. Is it breakfast time yet?
ANY time is a good time for pancakes.
Yum. The little slice of banana is what truly makes it complete.
It’s actually butter.
I was originally planning on shooting this with banana slices and pecans, but was running out of time, so ended up going with just the butter and syrup.
Looks like you got the perfect angle to make it look like either.
gotta love Shel’s poems, he always get in touch with the naughty kid
OK, we’re dying to know: homemade? how many? how did you keep them stacked?
what besides syrup is dripping out from between them? Will you come to my house and make me some?
AND, most important of all: how many did You eat?!
1) Of course!
2) 25
3) Shish ka bob skewer down the middle (I did okay without it until I added the 21st pancake)
4) Nothing. Just syrup.
5) I’m sure we can work that out.
6) I’m *urp* not tellin’!
Good to see you on the blog again.
Man, the syrup dripping down the side is what kills me. I haven’t had pancakes in a really long time, but I think I might be changing that this weekend.
Now’s a great time!
OMG! My one of fav breakies! I can eat 3 maximum.
Really nice photo with dripping maple syrup from top.
James, your blog looks quite beautiful. Been here after a long gap. Thanks for your help as always. You’re the best!
That’s funny… that’s how many pancakes I gave Abigail.
Thanks, Sonia. I spent a couple months retooling the site. I still have a couple ‘back burner’ issues I want to update, but I admit I’m in no rush.
I would’ve never guessed those were pancakes were made by you! You should take a pic of you with a chef hat
I love Pancakes. I can eat as many cakes as I can til I have no more craving for them for that time. Yummy Picture.
Oh my god, that looks delicious!! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, even if I usually don’t have it during the “normal” hours – I’m more of a breakfast-for-dinner or latenight snack kind of person. Thanks for inspiring my cravings! ?
How did you delete the background?
Really bright lights and white paper.
Pancake with butter and maple syrup…. hmmm!
I wonder how you mange to stack it so tall…
Gotta bookmark this article!
Whoah! That’s a lot of pancakes
The poem is really fun to read. This photo makes me hungry!
Cool photo, and holy cow that’s a lot pancakes! But I’m afraid the real star here is the poem. Shel Silverstein has got to be one of my all time favorite poets. He was a real inspiration to me a kid, so I thank you for giving me a little trip down memory lane
I had the worst pancakes ever this week but those look amazing. Great picture – awesome
Awesome…maybe you could photoshop in an excited little kid sitting behind the pancakes staring up in amazement at the massive stack in front of him…knife & fork in hand ready to attack with gusto.
