Introducing Abigail

I haven’t been here as much as I am usually… here’s why. Please meet Abigail Adams Lee, a lab / border collie mix. She is named after our second first lady here in the United States. I don’t know if she will live up to the name or not, but she seems pretty smart.

I don’t know what she sounds like yet, because she hasn’t barked once this weekend. She’s one of the calmest dogs I’ve ever met. She kind of knows how to sit, and she stays put on a bed in our dining room when we eat (none of that begging business).

So… world, meet Abigail. Abigail – world.

If you’re in New England, and have room for pooch in your heart and home, please consider Peace and Paws, the organization that helped place Abigail with us. For those in Tennessee, Proverbs 12:10 Rescue took care of Abigail when she was born.

  1. Ahhh, man’s best friend. Hoping that she slept in bed with you at first. It creates a bond that will never be broken! Take her with you where ever you go. She will be by your side forever, with no strings attached!

  2. Aww she is really cute and looks innocent.I like they way you have introduced her with us.I just love labs as they are always cute.I am quite amazed that she hasn’t barked at least once.

  3. LOL Bob – I think there are 3 rooms that might be vying for the “sleep in my bed” privilege.
Congrats, James, I know you’ve missed having a dog.
And, rest of family, don’t let James fool you… that dog is for HIM. eckso, eckso
She looks and sounds like a real keeper.
So, not being the history buff you are, JR, was AAdams from NH? (w/out googling her, I thot it was Mass….??)

  4. Im not really in to dogs, but the picture above looks like you have a good pet.

  5. She looks really cute, Got to love labs.

  6. so cute reminds me of my old dog =(

  7. Hoping that she slept in bed with you at first. It creates a bond that will never be broken! Take her with you where ever you go. She will be by your side forever, with no strings attached!

  8. I really like the way she looks at the camera. Abigail is really cute. And I think, she is just making or waiting for the right time to make that remarkable “bark”.

  9. I’m not that into dogs (usually for the begging during eating reasons), but my goodness Abigail is cute!! As soon as I saw those eyes I had to read a little more!! Hope you have a wonderful time with her.

  10. She’s a doll. This morning, she discovered reflections (saw a “second” James in a pane of glass – and started barking like crazy).

Tahsina, we had her in Maine over the weekend, and we ate at a lobster shack without outdoor picnic tables. She lied down under our table and didn’t beg once… not from us, and not from anyone else at the restaurant. She’s never been fed a single scrap of human food from the table, and that helps. Still, it’s pretty unusual, and I feel pretty lucky.

I’m not much of a “dog in the bed” person, so she doesn’t get that in our house, but I do lay on the floor with her if I’m watching TV.

  11. I’m not that into dogs (usually for that begging throughout eating factors), but my goodness Abigail is cute!! As quickly as I noticed these eyes I had to go through a little more!! Hope you could have a wonderful time with her.

  12. I like they way you have introduced her with us.I just love labs as they are always cute.I am quite amazed that she hasn’t barked at least once.

  13. She is a beauty! Had to look at her a bit better to compare with the snow puppy. ha/ha

  14. Who doesn’t love a puppy? I can only imagine how big she has gotten since December. My aunt and uncle tragically lost their lab in an incident involving a car, and they too, adopted a border collie/lab mix. It’s the sweetest thing. Does yours suffer the hyper activity or the laid-back life style?
