Taking a bite

Are you biting the apple, or will the apple bite you? Sophie made this, and then we ate it. Good times!

Apple

This is not a post about the world’s most valuable company. Don’t get me wrong, as an early adopter of the iPhone 5, I could go on a rant or two. Maps, battery life, destroyed podcast functionality, lightning port, cost of lightning port adapters, unavailability of lightning port adapters, design of lightning port adapters (take […]

Eggs

Regular readers know we keep chickens. When we get a backlog of eggs, it’s time to make a large scramble. This photo was taken right before the whisk was applied. Like this image? It’s available for sale here.

Winter Corn

I lived most of my life in Arizona, where you can grow corn all winter long. Here in New Hampshire, this is what the corn looks like in January… This image was taken with me bending all the way down to the ground, the camera just a few inches above the snow.

The Baker’s Ring

The other day I was making pizza dough, and coated my hands with flour before remembering to take my ring off. I slid it across the counter (get it away from the dough – no one wants to find that in their pizza). We thought the flour trail looked cool, so here’s a photo. If […]

Things that make you cry…

Another photo from my sister’s wedding – things that make you cry. Onions and weddings. We had hor dourves prior to the wedding, and this happy couple beat my sister and her beau to it. They graced an onion dip of sort as a garnish… it was good.

Pancakes

This image brought to you by Shel Silverstein (who also inspired this photo). Pancakes Who wants a pancake, Sweet and piping hot? Good little Grace looks up and says, “I’ll take the one on top.” Who else wants a pancake, Fresh off the griddle? Terrible Teresa smiles and says, “I’ll take the one in the […]

Vino

Taken at a restaurant in Lexington, VA. Sadly, I forget the name of the place, so I can’t give them props here. I didn’t have any of the wine, but liked the look of their wine rack, and the hostess was happy to let me snap a few photos.

Salt and Pepper

Peppercorns and sea salt crystals, just waiting to be ground onto some fresh food.

Coffee Bubbles

A macro photo of my morning coffee, including what appears to be about 100 self portraits in the reflections.
