About a year ago, I posted a couple pictures of this ride. Today I took photos of the same ride, but after dark. I like how they turned out. These first two images are down by a fog machine, and the last is up high above.
Once again, I didn’t ride.
It’s called the “Freak Out,” and while I don’t think I would do that if I were on the ride, I also don’t think I’d feel good afterwards.
Very colorful ride. But I probably would forget about all the colors were I to ride on it because this is probably designed for riders like me who will definitely ‘freak out’.
BTW, the ‘pictures of this ride’ link above just points to a duplicate of the first picture.
Whoops – thanks, James. Fixed!
great fun shot but I would not like the ride. Altho I’m sure I’d be freaking out I’d be equally concerned about some other action/direction such as throwing up….
When I first looked at it, I thot it was a lego creation!! funny little lego people in a lego ride. lol
It does look Lego-ish! Hopefully a little more stable… ?
That first pic is my favorite of the 3…I couldn’t tell what it was at first glance, it looked like a brightly colored piece of a Transformer or something, or Lego-ish like you said. I think that’s one of the reasons I like it so much, it was intriguing and made me want to look at it more closely to try and figure out what the picture was of. The pop of the colors and lights contrasted on the night sky are also so beautiful.
Thank you, Karen!
Great pics! I’m sure that the riding is more interesting with the lights on. Maybe you’ll ride it and post pics while riding :))
All the bests,
Jacob.
I don’t think that’s going to happen any time soon. ?
IT looks awesome and terrifying.I would suggest you to have atleast once on your life.
I have ridden things like this… but as I get older, I’m just not as interested as I used to be.
nice pics with the colors, but i would try to freeze the motion and get the pics sharper… anyway, nicetopic
or make it fully blurred, that would give an interesting play with the colors, too
anyway, don’t be angry with me, im not criticizing just had some ideas while watching your photos.
No offense taken.
People who can’t take a little criticism shouldn’t post their work on the Internet!
This was as fast as I could get the shutter to snap, and I had to push these images pretty hard as I processed them in the computer. They came out of the camera much darker, and in the process of lightening the highlights and mid-range tones as much as I did, the image softened a bit. There was also a lot of “noise” in these photos (grainy look caused by such low light), so I used some noise reduction software, and that further softened the image. I wouldn’t normally post images this soft, but I really liked the colors and mood, so I went with it.
All that to say that I do not think I can do better with my current camera. Low light capabilities are very important to me, so when I buy my next camera, I will be thinking of shots like this… and that will be part of what I consider when I make that purchase.
Thought it was a fancy colored crane :)) The third one looks awesome.. great shot James!
I really love this ride! It really scare me a lot.. For me it is a great shot! I love the color.. I am amazed on how you captured this.. thanks for post! Hope to see more of your shot!
nice photography, it is one of my hobbies too, i like to snap photos of kids using my smartphone, i have a huge collection of them, iam still to own a good DSLR camera, which camera do you use?. good work keep it up. also can i share your pics with fb friends
beautiful shoot, I love the colors but for me sharpness is missing .
beautiful shots! i have never ever tried to ride this fun ride…i’m too scared and i know it will make me feel sick after. lol
Your photos are complementary to the awesomeness of the ride! The lights are my favorite colors which you vividly captured. I am staring at it with child-like wonder ?
Very cool set. Personally, I think these 3 are much more interesting than the first 2 you shot. The contrast of the bright colors and glowing lights against the night sky is very pretty. I also like the added element of the fog machine in the first 2. There’s so much going on, and so much to look at. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing pics!. It seems from pictures that the ride must be full of thrill and excitement. I never experienced such rides. I have seen such rides in movies. Anyways this was nice sharing.
We’ve almost never had a fair ride like that come to my town. I’ve never been on one if you can believe that! Your series here makes me imagine the amount of excitement and fun that would come with riding one, though. The colours are really inspiring and breath-taking all at once. A really bright and uplifting set!
