Candle Carousel

If you celebrate Christmas, you may have one of these among your decorations. It’s a candle carousel, and when you light candles below the blades, the warm air rising causes a decoration at the base of the unit to spin. For today’s shot, I elected to stick with just the blades of the decoration, as I liked how they came in and out of focus depending on the depth of the shot. One of these days, I’ll get a Lens Baby and be able to control that effect more, but for now, I enjoyed this one. Happy Holidays!

This is a cool shot – my parents had one of these when I was younger! Haven’t thought about it in forever.
