Back to Work

Since it’s the first day of being back at work, I thought another work themed photo might be in order.

Perhaps ironic, though, as I do not use nails, screws, anchors, or bolts in my job. These are all the tools used in a myriad of home improvement projects… left over, and ready for the next project, whatever it may be.

Today I started at Electric Insurance Company,® where I am the new Customer Experience Manager. I had the opportunity to meet a bunch of people I’ll be working with, and listened to several calls from different customers. It’s a pretty exciting opportunity – I’m stoked about getting to go.

    … this has gotta be the first time I’ve spent a considerable amount of time looking at a picture of boxes with nails in them :) Maybe it’s because of the yellow color and the square’ish lines running through the picture which actually form the same grid as the one I have in the viewfinder of my D5000…

  2. The pic says one word “Organized”. I’d have to use a tripod to take a picture such as this as my hand is not that steady to ensure the borders run parallel with the lines of the object.

    Hey James, thanks for taking time to cruise by my blog. I’ll be sure to check yours out. I’m interested in tracking your photos. About two years ago I thought about starting a photoblog, but then realized that I wasn’t sure what to photograph so with the guaranteed lack of content, it never came to fruition.

    I spent labor day rebuilding a wooden frame that supports an old hot tub built into the deck. The wood has all rotted out from over the years. Your photo is quite fitting for how I’ve spent the last few days (and will spend the next few weeks).

    @Klaus – yeah, this was an easy image to get lined up in the camera.

    @James – I did use a tripod.

    @Simon & @Shane – So far so good. It’s pretty intense, but so far I’m thrilled to be there.

    @Chris – your site really is very nicely designed. The thing about photo blogs – there are enough interesting shapes in the world, you really can’t run out of material. At least, I haven’t yet. Good luck with the deck!

    Good job! You made a relevance out of that picture in your recent job though you really not using those nails, screws and bolts in your recent job. Hehehe.. So anyway, how was your first day as a Customer Experience Manager? I hope you learned a lot and you had fun. :) By the way, yellow is my favorite color, that photo really looks great! :D

    First day was a whirl wind of names and ideas. Since then, I’ve settled into a more steady routine of names and ideas… so I’m learning as fast as I can. :D Got started on a couple projects yesterday, so I will be able to start contributing soon.

    Best of luck with the new job!
