Or Clementine orange peels. One of the two, I'm sure of it.
Alien invasion is brought to you by j.ronald.lee - photography / journal

Attack of the pod creatures?

Or just Clementine orange peels?

Sadly, the latter, but I thought they made for a fun photo none the less.

I’ve mentioned these before… when I took a bunch of Tretorn photos, they came up. They are, in the words of a total stranger, “Epic.”

They’re the kind of shoes that cause total strangers to walk up and ask you where you got them. One woman told me that she used to think her Kelly green Converse All Star high tops were awesome, but after she saw these, she decided they were lame.

They’re Gore-Tex lined, so I don’t wear them in the summer… but around October, I bust them out for warm footed orange-y goodness. Tretorn for the win! I have several pairs of their shoes, and a few sweaters, too.

Really one of the best toys invented in the last couple of decades would have to be Stikfas. We discovered them at Think Geek, but they’re available lots of places.

They look like the plastic of a model car when you buy them; lots of molded pieces attached together. You break the pieces off and then snap them together to make the figures. This photo does not do them justice; they’re so customizable, you’ll play with them for hours. They come with stickers to decorate the figures, and there are lots of other types of accessories. Weapons, tools, animals, dinosaurs, vehicles, armor, and more.

Good times!

These flowers didn’t bloom at all last year, but this year a few of the bulbs seem to have more drive. We have three blooms from what appears to be over 50 bulbs. I think we need to move them to a sunnier spot.

Here’s a timely weekend post. With a few cool days, we had opportunity to start a fire.

Here’s a cocktail recipe I came up with on the spot. I doubt it’s original, but it sure was tasty!

Equal parts pomegranate schnapps, grapefruit vodka, and orange juice in a shaker over ice. A splash of simple syrup to balance the acidity of the citrus and bitterness of the pomegranate. Shake, and pour into a chilled martini glass.

You’re on your own for the fireplace.

Enjoy!
