These shots are from a few nights ago, when the ice first started to freeze over. These little trails of bubbles were frozen into the ice, which is about two inches thick in these images.

I put the camera on a tripod way down low next to the ice, then lit the shot with a flash light (I took these before the sun came up). These are both at f22 to keep the depth of focus from being too shallow, so the tripod was very necessary… they were five second exposures.

Okay – I’m up early most Saturdays… at least, for a non-work day. Today I woke up at 2 (the first time), and after several attempts at getting back to sleep, crawled out of bed around 6. I was thus able to get a nice shot of the sun shining on some ice crystals on the window this morning.
