It’s back-light with two bare 500 watt halogen bulbs – a work light, the kind you buy at a hardware store. The subject is in between the lights and the camera, with the lights pointed directly at the camera, creating a nice dark shadow. The photo was taken after dark, so it was very black outside where I took the picture.

I am interested in finding out what kind of lighting you used to capture this shot. It is a great photograph, but I imagine the lighting was tricky to get a somewhat clear outline of the person against the backdrop. Looking forward to hearing how you accomplished this.

I liked the portrait photography which you have taken in fire light. It really enhances the one’s features. One thing about portrait photography I like is that it captures the real emotions of a person. Also by looking at the picture I think the Squash Blossom Boys must have been able to entertain the guests at your sister’s wedding. The expressions on thier faces are truly amazing! Thanks for sharing!

I really like the black and white picture of the guy in the hat. It surely is an amazing click and it just feel more smooth and calm whenever I see a band picture in black and white layout. It must have been real fun to see the band perform live as it is in my list of favorite bands as well.

I think you made great use of these old keys, really interesting shot. I love the textures and contrasting colors. I also love the punny title, a different type of ebony and ivory keys! Very clever haha

These both really did turn out well! Props to you, I’m not a photographer, but I’m willing to bet these bees were a difficult subject. You did an impressive job getting such small fast moving creatures so well in focus!

Very cool looking photo. I like how the background is so black, which really highlights the bright white letters. And they are cool letters too, I could see that being a font or maybe cover art for a rock band lol
