Fortune Cookie

Fortune Cookie

Yesterday, I received a phone call from a company that I have been interviewing with since December 2008. Dozens of phone calls over the last 20 months and six visits to meet with members of their team later, they offered me a position that is a really great fit for my skills, schooling, and experience.

To celebrate, we¬†decided not to cook. I picked up Chinese on the way home. They threw in way too many fortune cookies, so we both just closed our eyes and grabbed one. I opened mine first, and what does it say? “All your hard work will soon pay off.”

We smile, we laugh, we high five, we kiss, we laugh some more.

Then Claire opened her cookie.

“All your hard work will soon pay off.”

What a day.
