Twilight in Ocracoke

Ocracoke evening sky

Not a whole lot to say about these images. I think they stand on their own quite nicely. I was super pleased with the performance of the D90. Not very much noise in these images (AKA grain). What little there was I toned down even further with Lightroom, so it worked out.

That’s not to say that I wouldn’t rather have the rumored Nikon D90 replacement with crazy improved ISO performance for incredible low light photos… but I don’t need it. My wish list is simple.

I accept donations… 😉

  1. this so very calm pure and divine

    • You are so right, it is so inspiring, I would sit there the whole day, just watching the sky. No traffic, no cars, everything seems to be so perfect.

  2. All pictures are good. But i like more the last picture. The color of the sky that reflects on the water is so perfect..

I always have this weakness for landscapes that has both water and sky. That middle picture specifically tugs at me and grips my attention. What perfection it must be to have a room window that shows me that view every time I wake up.

  4. Wow. really wonderful pictures. I liked very much. all pictures very very soooooo nice…Thanks for sharing beautiful pictures.

The third picture from above is definitely beautiful! I think you did with your D90 a wonderful job!

  6. wow! nice shots! very wonderful. Your photos could touch the heart.

  7. All pictures of night view looks so beautiful.. I like the 3 one photo most among these three…

  8. Looks like #3 is a clear favorite… that’s one I almost deleted, too! Had to work it over a little bit in the “developing” process to make it work. As for me, I’m a sucker for the long gradient skies, so number one.

  9. “Hokusai skies” – the lovely twilight deepening blues – my favorite, too!!
google Hokusai, Japanese woodblock printer of late 1800, early 1900 . Some great stuff 🙂

  10. WOW! I got 1 word ‘BRILLIANT”!

  11. Simon Bunting says:

Wow very serene. It looks very peacful. My favourite photo is the second one 🙂

  12. Thanks for publishing your beautiful photos, the light quality in the first pic is stunning!

  13. I agree on the first shot, the composition allowing so much sky is great, gives weight to the nice fade from blue to black.

  14. The first picture is breath taking. You can actually see how the night comes on slowly. Feels like I am seeing it in real timem.

  15. These pictures are absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing them. I especially love how you captured the reflection of the trees in the water.

  16. nice man your site very good
