clove, bay leaf, onion

onion bay leaf clove

It’s been a while since I shared a recipe here, and considering we just spent a three day weekend where each meal was an exercise in kitchen destruction and recovery, you’d think today would be the day.

But it isn’t.

This, surprisingly, was part of a macaroni and cheese recipe we were trying.

It needs tweaking before I share it here.

  1. Uh, OK…. I’m glad you told me there was an onion there. huh. smile.
Hope the mac&cheese was delish< I don't know that I've ever put clove and bay leaf in my mac&cheese (from the box…).

  2. Dude, we are waiting to know the aftermath :D Please write about the delicacy.. Macroni and cheese is definitely mouthwatering anytime :D

  3. Ah, well, you can rest assured that there will be another post (teaser!) with more on the mac and cheese. It was not the recipe I hoped for (need better cheese and fewer bread crumbs). We almost have this one down, and as soon as we do, we’ll share the recipe as well.

  4. That is called an onion pique’, it is part of a bechamel sauce, the main sauce of the classic french mother sauces.
