@Joanna - it really did get cold in the house this week with the furnace out-and-out breaking. We were actually down to 46 degrees. Yuck.

As for the bumper sticker, I agree it's better suited for starting conversations than it is for solving problems.

OMG I would die, I need our house to be warm. My husband is worried about how high the bills get so I keep the temp at a level that I can stand without shaking. I do dress warm with socks and plenty of blankets on my bed. I just can't stand the cold. It does get cold here and we do get our share of snow. Not as much as you get but we get some.

About the pic I think they loose the point that as a country if we don't protect ourselves we would be taken over. I do like our freedom and my choice to do pretty much what I please. While their point is fine I don't think it is realistic. Nice thought though.

For those who are wondering what Laura's talking about, click the link above to read about crazy people in New England who are foregoing large amounts of heat in the name of going barefoot in the winter. Our house is cold... but not as cold as it is outside!

Unrelated to your photo, I am a reporter with USA Today working on a story about no-heat challenges around the country. I saw you posted on the Crunchy Chicken's Freeze Yer Buns challenge. I'm wondering how you fared in challenging yourself and would you be willing to talk about it? I can be reached at (973) 428-xxxx or xxxx@gannett.com
Thanks for considering this.
